Hi, my name is Berit Erickson. This is me when I was eight years old--a Cher-wannabe, hippie child of the 70's. I may be a lot older than eight now, but I'm still a kid at heart!

I've been maintaining this directory of kids' Web sites since 1994, when the Theodore Tugboat activity center was first launched. I am a librarian; after spending almost my entire life in school I finally graduated with my Master of Library and Information Studies in May 1994. Hooray!

I began with only 25 sites and I was hard-pressed to find that many back then! Now, Berit's Best Sites for Children lists a thousand top-notch fun and educational sites. I enjoy my work visiting so many wonderful places, learning, playing a few games, coloring some pictures, and my favorite, making crafts, along the way.
